Documented Clash Royale deck ranking
DeckBeacon publishes how its Clash Royale deck ranking is built: a Path of Legends sample, Wilson Rating, and an unrated dash under 50 games.
Most Clash Royale deck sites show a number called something like Rating. DeckBeacon's difference is not that the number is prettier. It is that you can read how it was made. The full write-up is methodology. This page is the feature: a ranking with a published sample, a defined score, and a refusal to score thin lists.
- Sample — Path of Legends leaderboard players and their battle logs, via the official API. A bounded sample, not a census, not a seven-day history.
- Identity — eight cards plus Tower Troop plus Evolution / Hero form. Two lists with the same names can still be different decks.
- Rating — DeckBeacon's own 0–100 Wilson lower bound on decisive games. Never a
%. Not RoyaleAPI's Rating. - Unrated — fewer than 50 decisive games prints an em dash, not
0.
Win rate (a real percentage over wins+losses) and usage (share of appearances) sit beside Rating. They answer different questions. Sorting by win rate without the Wilson penalty will surface lucky small samples.
Why this is a feature and not a blog post
A ranking you cannot explain is a skin. Players compare screenshots across sites and assume the numbers are the same scale. They are not. Publishing the method is how DeckBeacon avoids that lie. It is also how we avoid scraping a competitor to "keep up."
The snapshot must clear documented floors (sampled players, successful logs, unique battles, mapped decks, pagination, known cards, validated copy links) before it can ship at all. A pretty grid of 200 lists that failed those floors is not a catalog we will serve.
What it is not
It is not a promise that the top row will win your next ladder match. The sample is leaderboard Path of Legends. Trophy road, 2v2, and Grand Challenge are different populations. Grand Challenge is measurable in the crawl and too thin to publish as its own tab today.
It is not RoyaleAPI's Rating with our name on it. We do not ingest their ranking. Agreement is coincidence of two pipelines.
It is not live win-rate for the deck you just copied. After import, Evolutions may still be off; your games are not in this snapshot.
