What is a ranked snapshot?
A DeckBeacon ranked snapshot is one published Path of Legends sample: 200 decks, a catalog version, and numbers that belong to that crawl only.
A ranked snapshot on DeckBeacon is one freeze of the catalog: a Path of Legends crawl, a ranked list of 200 decks, and a catalogVersion timestamp. It is the unit the website and the native app both show. When the daily job runs, a new snapshot can replace latest — the previous numbers do not quietly rewrite themselves on old screenshots.
The snapshot is the answer to "what is the meta here." It is not the answer to "what has been true for seven days" or "what every Clash Royale player used yesterday." Those would be a history and a census. DeckBeacon publishes neither. Bounded sample.
What a snapshot contains
- Provenance: when it was generated, how many leaderboard players were requested, how many logs succeeded, unique battles, deck appearances
- Segment: today,
ranked-all— Path of Legends 1v1. Other tabs need their own floors before they ship - Entries: up to 200 decks with Rating, win rate, usage, and the unrated dash
- Cards, archetypes, win conditions derived from those decks
Every copy URL in that freeze is validated before render. Copy-deck link.
What changes between snapshots
Decks enter and leave the top 200. A list that falls out keeps a page for a rolling window (the known-decks archive) with an out-of-meta banner; it is not re-advertised on the sitemap. Stats on an archived page are from the last time it ranked, not "current."
Card art and names follow the official API roster in that freeze.
What it is not
It is not a live ticker. The web loader may reuse a fetch for 30 minutes; the crawl is daily. Refreshing your browser does not recrawl the leaderboard.
