What is Path of Legends in Clash Royale?

Path of Legends is Clash Royale's ranked ladder. DeckBeacon's catalog samples its leaderboard — a bounded snapshot, not every ladder game.

Path of Legends is Clash Royale's ranked 1v1 ladder (the trophy-road-adjacent competitive track with leagues up through Ultimate Champion). It is the mode DeckBeacon samples, because that is where a "ranked deck" currently has a leaderboard the official API will actually give us.

The official API has no "top decks" endpoint at any access tier. There is nothing to fetch named "the meta." DeckBeacon therefore crawls the Path of Legends leaderboard, pulls those players' battle logs, normalizes each list to a stable playable identity, and ranks what remains. That pipeline is the whole product's data story. Full contract: methodology.

What "ranked" means on this site

Unless a page says otherwise, numbers are from the ranked-all segment: Path of Legends battles in the latest published snapshot. It is a bounded sample of that leaderboard's recent logs — not a census of all Path of Legends games, not mid-ladder, not a seven-day history, and not Grand Challenge.

A deck that is everywhere in challenges and rare among sampled leaderboard players will look weak or absent here. That is sampling, not a moral judgement on the list.

Why other modes are not secretly mixed in

Challenge battles are present in the raw crawl (they arrive as a different type, joined by event tag), but they are not this segment. Publishing a Grand Challenge ranking needs enough decisive games to clear the same floors as ranked. Until that is true, mixing them in would be a quieter lie than leaving them out.

Ultimate Champion as a separate tab was tried and retired: the leaderboard is already almost all UC, so the two lists duplicated each other.
