Does DeckBeacon search players?
No. DeckBeacon does not look up Clash Royale players or clans. There is no name search in the official API, and we will not guess from trophies.
No. DeckBeacon does not search players, does not resolve a player tag, and does not show clan stats. If you pasted a name into the box on /decks, that box filters card and deck names in the snapshot, not accounts.
This is a missing product, not a missing button. The official Clash Royale API has no global player search by name. Exact lookup needs a player tag. Clan names and player names are not unique. Guessing from trophies, a search-rank, or the first clan hit is how you hand someone the wrong account.
DeckBeacon will not do that. The friendly answer when identity is ambiguous is "we cannot tell," not a confident wrong profile.
What to use instead
- Player or clan page — RoyaleAPI or Stats Royale
- Ranked deck to copy — this site, starting at /decks
- Build or check a list you designed — Deck Shop
A comparison table that lists "no player lookup" as a DeckBeacon bug is describing a different market. Side-by-side: DeckBeacon vs RoyaleAPI.
Why the catalog still has names on it
Deck pages show a display name like "Hog Cycle" because that is the deck's name in our snapshot, derived from the cards and archetype. It is not a player. Usage and Wilson Rating are computed over battles in a Path of Legends sample, not over your trophy history.
If a YouTube overlay showed a QR code for a played deck, that is a watch-then-copy job — Stats Royale's broadcast adjacency, not something this snapshot pretends to be. CRL 2026. Mohamed Light.
